Nicole Denarie
Having been born in Paris in 1949, in the neighborhood of Montmartre, and to a very art-oriented family, I had the fortune of being exposed to art from a very early age.
I came to México in 1969 and it wasn’t until the 1980s that circumstances allowed me to explore the interest I had since I was a child, finally painting in a more professional and complete form, mostly with watercolor and oil techniques. It was around that time that I also made my way into the world of interior design, (mural/wall) painting, the faux-arts and trompe l’oeil for furniture intervention and decoration, synthetic-stone-sculpturing, diverse textures such as (yeso), leather, (estaño) leather accessories and fabric.
In my later years, finally regained my interest in painting, I find myself in what really feels fulfilling and compelling to me. To stand in front of a canvas, use color and texture and distinct materials, is to forget everything that surrounds me... it allows me to escape to my ideal world, where there are no limits or rules. Where my soul can express itself freely. Where the color reigns, along with dreams and harmony. Where I can be totally myself, a creative individual spirit, so that I can share with the Universe a little bit of my essence, and in this way, keep learning day by day that I have no boundaries.
