Hector "Monrock" Monroy

Hector "Monrock" Monroy, an International pop artist, was born in Landa de Matamoros, Queretaro, Mexico, and studied advertising, artistic drawing, and plastic arts at ESDAP. He later broadened his scope in the audiovisual communications industry and worked in graphic design. As a teacher of painting and drawing, Mr. Monroy's passion focused on rock music and the Hollywood movies eras.

Since his inspiration is drawn from rock music and movie icons, his works often pay tribute to the most notable Rock Star Legends and Hollywood icons, and for more than 42 years, has worked in the art business, exhibiting for many years in TV Art Auctions, and Virtual Galleries.

A painter of original art portraits in Pop Art Style of Legends of Rock Music and legendary Movie Stars, he is inspired by his idols to capture all the detail and personality of those nostalgic wonderful '50s, '60s, and '70s decades. Icons like Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, YES, The Who, The Doors, James Dean, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, John Wayne, Marlene Dietrich, Bettie Page, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, etc. His style is defined as "pop art" with a realistic touch.
